Convene Announces Expansion into Soho with New Meetings and Events Venue: Convene 555 Broadway

Convene, a global lifestyle hospitality company that designs and manages premium meeting, event, and flexible workspaces, announced its expansion into New York City’s SoHo neighborhood with a new venue at 555 Broadway, also known as the Scholastic Building.  Convene 555 Broadway will occupy over 32,000 square-feet on the second floor, offering a maximum event capacity of just over 450 guests.  This will be the 16th Convene venue in New York City.

“Client experience is the top priority for Convene.  The SoHo submarket has been one of the most requested destinations from our existing clientele and we wanted to ensure that we could create a special venue that speaks to the energy and vibrancy of the neighborhood– we found that at 555 Broadway,” said Brian Holland, senior vice president of real estate at Convene.  “This is one of SoHo’s most iconic buildings and its bones were well-positioned to allow us to design a one-of-a-kind venue that will  cater to the unique needs of the surrounding fashion, technology, and media industries.”

Set to open Spring 2026, Convene 555 Broadway will have a dedicated retail entrance with a welcome desk, providing a seamless entry experience for guests.  To best serve the creative industries that occupy SoHo, the venue will provide clients the ability to create flexible layouts, numerous branding opportunities, and AV production capabilities including rigging and trussing.

Convene 555 Broadway will comprise seven unique meeting and event spaces including a 252-person main hall, a 16-person boardroom, five smaller studios that can serve as breakout space or standalone meeting rooms – including one studio with movable walls to create a larger, contiguous main gallery – and three beautiful gallery spaces for networking, receptions, and/or exhibitors.  Each event area can be custom configured to serve various function types and sizes from trunk shows, to offsite meetings, product launches, investor days, educational programs, training sessions, receptions, salon dinners, and more.  The deal for Convene 555 Broadway includes coveted branding rights on the building.

Added Holland, “In a world of hybrid-work, in-person corporate gatherings are increasingly important, helping organizations to foster connection, collaboration, and drive culture.  Convene has a 15-year track record of designing and operating hospitality-driven venues.”

The venue will be designed by Convene’s in-house design team in partnership with boutique New York City firm Marlo & Kroft.  With bookmaking serving as an inspiration, the design of Convene 555 Broadway will pay homage to the building’s namesake, Scholastic, through the use of grids, lines, and structured elements.  Additional design influences for the venue include  the surrounding SoHo artists lofts, which will be represented through the use of exposed materials, and the use of geometric patterns and raw materials .
