My Career Story with François Fournier, Head of Global Events at DTN and Natalie Fulton, Business Events Manager at New Zealand

In this episode, we’re joined by François Fournier, Head of Global Events at DTN, and Natalie Fulton, Business Events Manager at New Zealand.

François leads DTN’s global meetings and incentive programme, delivering more than 75 commercial, internal and customer-facing events each year across the energy, weather and agriculture sectors. Working closely with marketing and sales teams, his role focuses on aligning events with lead generation, sales strategy and wider digital campaigns.

François shares why weather data plays such a critical role across industries today — from supporting major outdoor events and aviation to maritime traffic, governments and schools — and what it’s like collaborating with teams delivering complex, large-scale experiences.

He also reflects on his career journey, starting out in a small event management company in Miami, moving into organiser-side roles, and what continues to drive his passion for the events industry. A thoughtful conversation about scale, strategy and why events still excite those who work closest to them.
