As per a recent report by CBRE Hotels Research, the hotel industry continues to exceed the “average” line of CO2 emissions, emphasising the urgent need for the hospitality and leisure sector to reduce carbon emissions. CBRE’s April report disclosed that the hotel industry’s CO2 emissions are at 96 on the scale as of March 2023. In addition, CBRE’s research indicates that other industries such as retail establishments, healthcare, and leisure lodging surpass the average line of approximately 80, spotlighting a global need to rein in carbon production.
